💳 Cancellations, Changes & Refunds

Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains Airtix's role in travel bookings and how refunds, cancellations, changes, fare differences, and service fees are generally handled when a booking is completed through an airline, online travel agency, or third-party booking partner.

Effective date: July 14, 2026

1. Refund Policy Overview

Airtix is an independent travel-information and affiliate website. In most cases, Airtix does not issue airline tickets, collect ticket payments, or hold customer funds.

When you select a flight option or click a booking link, you may be redirected to an airline, online travel agency, affiliate booking engine, or another independent travel provider. The refund rules of that provider and the applicable airline fare conditions will govern your booking.

Airtix cannot approve, reject, accelerate, or guarantee a refund for a booking completed on a third-party website.

2. Airtix's Role

Airtix may provide:

  • Flight-search and comparison tools.
  • Travel information and general booking guidance.
  • Links to airlines and third-party booking providers.
  • Affiliate referrals to independent travel websites.

The company shown on your ticket confirmation, payment receipt, or card statement is generally the provider responsible for servicing your booking, including cancellations, changes, and refunds.

3. Refund Eligibility

Refund eligibility depends on the airline's fare rules, ticket type, booking channel, travel date, route, cancellation timing, and reason for the request.

Refundable Fare

May qualify for a refund subject to cancellation deadlines, penalties, and provider fees.

Partially Refundable

A portion may be refunded after deducting airline penalties, taxes, or service charges.

Non-Refundable Fare

Usually not eligible for a cash refund, though a credit or limited tax refund may sometimes be available.

A ticket is not automatically refundable merely because the traveler no longer wishes to travel. Review the fare conditions before payment.

4. Non-Refundable Fares

Many discounted, promotional, basic-economy, and restricted fares are non-refundable. Depending on the airline's rules, a non-refundable ticket may:

  • Have no cash-refund value.
  • Qualify for future travel credit after penalties.
  • Permit recovery of certain unused government taxes.
  • Become entirely forfeited after a no-show.

Travel credits may have expiration dates, route restrictions, passenger-name restrictions, or rebooking conditions.

5. Voluntary Cancellations

A voluntary cancellation occurs when a traveler chooses not to use a confirmed booking. Airline penalties, provider service fees, fare restrictions, and refund deductions may apply.

Submit cancellation requests directly to the provider that issued the ticket. Cancellation is not complete until the airline or provider confirms it.

Do not assume that submitting an email, contact form, or refund request automatically cancels a booking. Obtain written confirmation from the ticketing provider.

6. Date Changes, Route Changes, and Rebooking

Ticket changes are subject to availability and applicable fare rules. The traveler may be required to pay:

  • An airline change penalty.
  • A fare difference between the original and replacement flight.
  • Taxes or currency differences.
  • A booking-provider service or handling fee.

If the replacement fare is lower, the difference may not be refundable unless the airline's rules expressly allow it.

7. Airline-Initiated Cancellations or Schedule Changes

When an airline cancels a flight or makes a significant schedule change, the airline or ticketing provider may offer:

  • Rebooking on another available flight.
  • A travel voucher or future credit.
  • A refund to the original payment method, where applicable.

Available remedies depend on the airline's policy, applicable law, route, and circumstances. Airtix does not control airline operations or compensation decisions.

8. Refund Processing Time

Refund timelines vary by airline, booking provider, payment method, bank, card issuer, currency, and destination.

Even after a provider approves a refund, additional time may be needed for the payment processor or financial institution to post the amount. Airtix cannot guarantee a specific processing period.

Keep the cancellation confirmation, refund reference number, ticket number, and payment receipt until the refund is completed.

9. Service Fees, Penalties, and Deductions

A refund may be reduced by:

  • Airline cancellation or change penalties.
  • Non-refundable booking or service fees.
  • Payment-processing or currency-conversion costs.
  • Used flight segments or partially used services.
  • Non-refundable seat, baggage, meal, or insurance charges.

Affiliate commissions earned by Airtix do not create an obligation for Airtix to reimburse the traveler directly.

10. No-Show and Missed Flight Rules

A traveler may be treated as a no-show if they fail to check in, board, or cancel before the airline's deadline.

A no-show can result in:

  • Cancellation of remaining itinerary segments.
  • Loss of the ticket value.
  • Additional reinstatement or rebooking charges.
  • Loss of eligibility for a refund or travel credit.

Contact the ticketing provider and airline immediately if you expect to miss a flight.

11. Baggage, Seat Selection, Meals, and Other Add-ons

Optional services may have separate cancellation and refund rules. Charges for baggage, preferred seats, meals, lounge access, priority services, and other extras may be non-refundable even when the ticket itself qualifies for a refund.

Review the relevant airline or provider policy before purchasing any optional service.

12. Travel Insurance and Protection Products

Travel insurance or trip-protection products are supplied by independent insurers or providers. Claims must be submitted directly to the insurer according to the policy terms.

Purchasing travel insurance does not guarantee that a cancellation or other loss will be covered.

13. Payment Disputes and Chargebacks

Before starting a payment dispute or chargeback, contact the merchant identified on your receipt or card statement.

An unjustified chargeback may cause a provider to cancel active bookings, restrict future services, or submit evidence disputing the claim. Airtix cannot manage a chargeback for a transaction processed by another company.

14. How to Request a Cancellation or Refund

  1. Locate the airline or booking-provider name on your confirmation, ticket, receipt, or payment statement.
  2. Review the fare conditions and cancellation deadline.
  3. Contact the ticketing provider through its official support channel.
  4. Provide the booking reference, passenger name, ticket number, and payment details requested by that provider.
  5. Request written confirmation of cancellation and any approved refund.
  6. Retain all correspondence and reference numbers.
Never send complete card numbers, passwords, one-time passcodes, or sensitive identity documents through an unsecured contact form.

15. Contact Airtix

You may contact Airtix for general questions about this Refund Policy. For a specific booking refund, contact the airline or provider that issued the ticket.
